21st May 2010:
In the early days of an investigation by SNCF engineers into the problems of the AMG800 (see below), it has been announced that they will continue to be out of service over the summer months. Therefore, due to lack of sufficient rolling stock, it is likely that in July/August there will only be 2 train services per day (instead of 5) between Ajaccio and Bastia.

23rd June 2010:
Summer timetables are now available. As feared in May, services are considerably reduced and no substitute bus services have been put in place.

Don't forget that the year-round bus service between Ajaccio and Bastia operated by Eurocorse as well as the year-round bus service between Calvi and Bastia operated by Beaux Voyages are still running.		 Le 21 mai 2010:
Au tout début de l'examination des problèmes de l'AMG800 (voir ci-dessous) par des ingénieurs de la SNCF, il a été annoncé qu'ils ne seront pas remis en service avant l'été. Par conséquent, en juillet/août et par manque de rames, seulement deux services train circuleront entre Ajaccio et Bastia (au lieu de 5 normalement).

Le 23 juin 2010:
Les horaires d'été sont maintenant disponibles. Comme on le craignait en mai, les services sont considérablement réduits et aucun service bus de substitution n'est mis en place.

N'oubliez pas, toutefois, les services permanents de bus entre Ajaccio et Bastia d'Eurocorse, d'une part, et entre Calvi et Bastia de Beaux Voyages, d'autre part.

The six AMG800s, which were brought into service during 2009, were withdrawn from the network in February 2010 due to abnormal wear of wheel bearings and brakes, as well as fears regarding the safety of the air-conditioning system.

Since there is a lack of rolling stock to cover all services, until at least 4th July 2010, some services are operated by specially chartered buses.

 Les six AMG800, qui avaient été mis en service au cours de l'année 2009, ont été retirés du réseau en février 2010 du fait d'une usure prématurée des roulements et des freins, ainsi que des craintes concernant la sécurité du système de climatisation.

Les anciens Soulé (ou autres) ne suffisant plus à assurer toutes les rotations, certains services sont à présent assurés par autocar et ce, au moins jusqu'au 4 juillet 2010.
The train and tramway timetables are modified every 2-3 months and are posted on this site as soon as I receive them. Les horaires train et tramway sont modifiés environ tous les 2-3 mois et sont postés sur ce site dès réception.
The "Tramway de la Balagne" is a seasonal service normally operating from mid-April till around middle of October or early November/ Le "Tramway de la Balagne" est un service saisonnier entre (normalement) la mi-avril et la mi-octobre ou début novembre.

All other train services and the Tramway suburbain between Bastia and Casamozza operate all year round.
Whenever the train service has been suspended for renovation work on the tracks, a substitute bus service is provided by the Chemins de fer corses running to the train timetable but along the main road and this is in addition to the bus
service(s) run by private bus companies.		 Tous les autres services train ainsi que le tramway suburbain entre Bastia et Casamozza sont disponibles toute l'année. Lorsque, en raison de travaux de rénovation du réseau, le service train a été suspendu, il a toujours été remplacé par un service bus affrêté par les Chemins de fer corses et empruntant la route nationale, celui-ci en plus du service bus des transporteurs privés.
It is worth noting that, although trains generally leave on time, there are often delays on the journey.
These may be caused by fallen branches, cattle on the line, waiting at a passing place for the train coming from the opposite direction, possibly by forest fires, etc. etc. 		Il faut noter que les horaires de départ sont généralement bien respectés mais des retards peuvent survenir pendant le voyage pour cause d'attente pour croiser le train venant de l'autre direction, incendies, des vaches en divagation, des branches d'arbres tombées sur la ligne, etc. etc.

The AMG800s were put into service in April 2009 but, due to premature wear of wheel bearings and brakes as well as fears for the safety of the air-conditioning system, they were withdrawn in February 2010 pending further tests and, presumably, modifications.

In 2007:
  1. the first of the twelve new AMG 800 arrived in Ajaccio on 23rd June 2007 (read more);
In 2008:
  1. two further AMG800s arrived. Tests are continuing and certain problems have arisen which mean that these new trains will not be used for public transport before 1st March 2009.
By 2009:
  1. the purchase of twelve AMG 800 railcars,
    panoramic, air-conditioned and adapted for wheelchair access;
  2. the first AMG 800s should come into service on 1st March 2009, the others at the end of the year;
  3. the renovation of 160km of railway line, out of a total of 232km;
  4. the Ajaccio-Bastia trip will take less than 3 hours.
  5. a suburban train service for the Ajaccio area with 5 return trips per day between Ajaccio and Mezzana.
Planned:
  1. Calvi station will be rebuilt 200 metres further from the town so as to combine the maintenance sections with the railway and bus station together with car parking space.
En 2007:
  1. le premier des douze nouveaux AMG 800 est arrivé le 23 juin 2007 à Ajaccio (plus d'infos);
En 2008:
  1. deux nouveaux AMG800 sont arrivés. Les essais se poursuivent notamment en vue de régler quelques problèmes entraînant le retardement de la mise en service attendu pour le 1er mars 2009.
D'ici 2009:
  1. l'acquisition de 12 autorails AMG 800, panoramiques, climatisés et aménagés pour les personnes en fauteuil roulant;
  2. les premiers AMG 800 devront être ont mis en service le 1er mars 2009, les autres à la fin de 2009;
  3. la rénovation de 160km de rails sur 232km;
  4. le trajet Ajaccio-Bastia sera ramené en-dessous de 3 heures.
  5. la création d'une desserte périurbaine à Ajaccio avec 5 A/R par jour entre Ajaccio et Mezzana.
Prévu:
  1. le déplacement de la gare de Calvi, 200 mètres en amont, afin de réunir les ateliers de maintenance, les dépôts ainsi que les gares ferroviaire et routière et un parking en un seul et même endroit.
