	There are numerous general guides to Corsica, for instance the well-known : Corsica (Lonely Planet Country and Regional Guides) and also a guide in the popular Sunflower series : Corsica: Car tours and walks . The best book ever written on Corsica, by Dorothy Carrington who lived in Ajaccio for 50 years, has recently been reprinted : Granite Island: Portrait of Corsica (Penguin Classics). And for a further insight into the Corsica of the past : Dream Hunters of Corsica Here is a book of easy-to-follow but authentic recipes from Corsican family cooking : Recipes from Corsica by Rolli Lucarotti. For more precise information on walks and treks in Corsica, here are a few suggestions : Gr20: Corsica - The High Level Route (Cicerone Guide) by Paddy Dillon, and Corsica Trekking GR20 (Trailblazer Trekking Guides) by David Abram, both of these two books cover the famous 15 day hike following the main mountain range of Corsica. Many suggestions for other walks are to be found in : Walking in Corsica: Long-distance and Short Walks (Cicerone International Walking). A good stock of maps (road maps as well as walking maps, including the IGN Top 25 walking maps) can be found at : Maps Worldwide.com. Presenting some very contrasting views of Corsica, the following books are interesting : Rose Cafe: Love and War in Corsica recounting a summer season spent amongst the colorful characters passing through this Ile Rousse café, Mouthful of Rocks: Through Africa and Corsica in the French Foreign Legion telling of the hardships of life in the Foreign Legion (surprise, surprise) and, lastly, Honorable Bandit: A Walk Across Corsica part travelogue, part memoir of his two-week "ramble" along the GR20.
